Bio

A New York City–based writer and editor, Justin Remus is a long-time denizen of the East Village. Memories of his neighborhood still stir his imagination with its oddballs, slower pace, and bohemia. He fondly remembers New York in its former incarnation, before it became Starbucked and über-chic, but embraces its current evolution during these difficult times.

A graduate of NYU’s Film School, Justin is a senior editor at CultHealth, editing and fact-checking both healthcare professional and consumer campaigns for major pharmaceutical clients.

Justin previously was a consultant for Beyond Organic Design, an education nonprofit that seeks regenerative solutions for our planet going beyond sustainability. Beyond Organic Design is committed to expanding ecological education and food access, as well as fostering alliances among diverse communities.

For many years, he was the senior editor at Smooth, an urban lifestyle magazine known for making waves in the New York City tabloids’ gossip columns. Justin’s cover stories and articles covered politics, entertainment, business, and sports, as well as book reviews. His biographical profiles have included public figures such as Michelle Obama, LeBron James, Kenneth Chenault, Patti LaBelle, and Rita Moreno.
